Biomass power generation is a sustainable and secure energy choice. Biomass fuels come from a variety of sustainable sources including forestry residues, sawmill co-products, recycled wood, etc., It was our first logical source of energy production keeping in mind:BIOMASS is abundant & easily replenished BIOMASS is healthy forests & in effect, stored solar energy BIOMASS is an efficient use of byproducts & waste. BIOMASS is net neutral carbon management & a greenhouse gas control mechanism. BIOMASS is dispatchable energy.
They can be used to provide energy for a wide range of applications – from domestic heating to large-scale industrial heat and power generation. Though the energy scenario in India today indicates a growing dependence on the conventional forms of energy, about 32% of the total primary energy use is still using biomass and more than 70% of the country’s population depends upon it for its energy needs.
RSG Energy has recently embarked on its first biomass power station development. RSG Energy is developing its Biomass project to the tune of 10MV in Tuticorin district of Tamil Nadu and expected to be commissioned by end of 2012. RSG Energy is currently doing a feasibility study of fuel availability to increase the capacity to 25MV.
RSG Energy has put in proper supply chain management for procurement of fuel for plant operation and also initiated few new strategies to educate local suppliers to produce additional fuel using technological advancement. Our biomass project details has been submitted to UNFCC under “Clean Development Mechanism” (CDM)
RSG Energy plans to applynow for licenses in other districts of Tamil Nadu after obtaining detail feasibility study of fuel availability.
